Yesterday I had a chance to visit a tiny museum in Brussels run by Henri Thomaes (82!). 20 years ago, the printer from Evere retired officially but he kept on going in his museum where time seems to have come to a standstill.

Intreeged by the leaflet of the Visionary Structures. From Johansons to Johansons exhibition in Bozar, I headed to Brussels.
The exhibition showcase works by seven Latvian artists active between 1920 and 2014 – Karl Iognason, Gustavs Klucis, Valdis Celms, Jānis Krievs, Artūrs Riņķis, Gints Gabrāns and Voldemārs Johansons. Despite the fact that each of these artists belongs to a different age and another ideological era, there is a coherence between their works. It was surprising how these pieces of art, design, architecture and urban planning were influenced by constructivism and futuristic ideas.

"Art During The Great War" is an exhibition in Antwerp (BE) built around six central figures, Rik Wouters, Emile Verhaeren, Cyriel Buysse, André de Ridder, Jules Schmalzigaug and Paul van Ostaijen. It explores how each was affected by the Great War.
Inspired by Paul van Ostaijen's work graphic designers Tom Hautekiet en Herman Houbrechts created a typographic poster for the exhibition and printed it at the Frans Masereel Centrum. Nice!

During spring 2013, for the first time in Belgium, Le Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée (Centre for Engravings and Prints, La Louvière, BE) will exhibit David Lynch’s lithographs and woodcuts. His first experimental short films, at the edge of fine arts and animation, will come along with the prints.
David Lynch is primarily known for his surreal films such as Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, as well as for the TV series Twin Peaks. But originally educated as a painter he remained active in the field of fine arts and has created various drawings, photographs and paintings. In 2007, David Lynch discovered lithography in a Parisian atelier, Idem. Since then he goes back every year.
I'm looking forward to this exhibition and plan to visit it next week.
Ben Joosten. 04.02-27.05.12
From February 4 until 27 May 2012 the Museum Het Valkhof will hold an exhibition of Dutch artist Ben Joosten - ‘Naar de letter – prenten in boekdruk’ (To the letter - letterpress prints).
The museum will display a selection of typographic prints as well as the documentary film ‘Naar de letter’ (To the letter) by Hanne van der Woude. I couldn't find info about of this documentary (or trailer) but found some 'making of' pictures and I'm curious about this documentary.
