I have some good news to share - the third edition of steamroller printing is coming our way! Organised by Topo Copy & MIAT it will take place on the 13th and 14th of September at the MIAT museum. So mark the dates in your agenda!
This year, as it is becoming a good tradition, we will be printing the poster on the antique presses in the printing department of the museum. Each year we are trying to be inventive using various techniques as a linocut, printing with plants and of course working with wood type from the museum's collection. As we never used lithography in our work before, this year we decided to give it a go. So like that a collaborative project between Nathan De Corte (lithography) and me (letterpress) was born :) Nathan came up with an idea for the illustration, I kept myself busy with the typographic part of the project and I think it worked quite well.
The lithographic stone is ready, the typesetting is done and we are ready for proofing:)
but first of all we need to adjust the packing on a cylinder press (thanks to Arnould Poelman for help)
a few additional polymeer plates have been made (thanks to Jo Van Buyten for help)
And we are ready to print!
