During spring 2013, for the first time in Belgium, Le Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée (Centre for Engravings and Prints, La Louvière, BE) will exhibit David Lynch’s lithographs and woodcuts. His first experimental short films, at the edge of fine arts and animation, will come along with the prints.
David Lynch is primarily known for his surreal films such as Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, as well as for the TV series Twin Peaks. But originally educated as a painter he remained active in the field of fine arts and has created various drawings, photographs and paintings. In 2007, David Lynch discovered lithography in a Parisian atelier, Idem. Since then he goes back every year.
I'm looking forward to this exhibition and plan to visit it next week.
World's largest lithography stone
Well, and now from world's smallest letterpress to world's largest lithography stone;) This picture has been taken in 1982 while printers where working on Rufino Tamayo's "Dos Personajes Atacados por Perros" (“Two People Attacked by Dogs”) measuring 61x98 inches stone. I wonder how they managed to place this stone on the press.
