"Art During The Great War" is an exhibition in Antwerp (BE) built around six central figures, Rik Wouters, Emile Verhaeren, Cyriel Buysse, André de Ridder, Jules Schmalzigaug and Paul van Ostaijen. It explores how each was affected by the Great War.
Inspired by Paul van Ostaijen's work graphic designers Tom Hautekiet en Herman Houbrechts created a typographic poster for the exhibition and printed it at the Frans Masereel Centrum. Nice!
Historische Drukkerij Turnhout
Last weekend we visited a private printing museum - Historische Drukkerij Turnhout. The collection provides visitors an insight in printing during the 19th & 20th century. During our guided tour an enthusiast volunteer demonstrated the type casting process, a few machines in action including Alauzet & Tiquet and the largest press in the collection - Marinoni Presse Universelle.

David Lynch - circle of dreams. 23.02 - 19.05.13. Le centre de la gravure
During spring 2013, for the first time in Belgium, Le Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée (Centre for Engravings and Prints, La Louvière, BE) will exhibit David Lynch’s lithographs and woodcuts. His first experimental short films, at the edge of fine arts and animation, will come along with the prints.
David Lynch is primarily known for his surreal films such as Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, as well as for the TV series Twin Peaks. But originally educated as a painter he remained active in the field of fine arts and has created various drawings, photographs and paintings. In 2007, David Lynch discovered lithography in a Parisian atelier, Idem. Since then he goes back every year.
I'm looking forward to this exhibition and plan to visit it next week.

From February 4 until 27 May 2012 the Museum Het Valkhof will hold an exhibition of Dutch artist Ben Joosten - ‘Naar de letter – prenten in boekdruk’ (To the letter - letterpress prints).
The museum will display a selection of typographic prints as well as the documentary film ‘Naar de letter’ (To the letter) by Hanne van der Woude. I couldn't find info about of this documentary (or trailer) but found some 'making of' pictures and I'm curious about this documentary.
