I must admit I have a weakness for letterpress related films. And even though this subtile short film by Danny Cooke have been featured on the various blogs and was circulating on twitter the last few days I felt the urge to (re)post it as well. Well, because it can never be too much;)

A Little Letterpress

After getting a set of metal type as a gift from a friend, Ishac Bertran decided to build a small printing press uisng only leftover materials from past experiments. Even though it is not accurate when printing it is very cute and is probably the smallest letterpress printing equipment ever made;)

Bound Away

'Bound Away' is an amazing handmade book (and music album) made by Sacramento band Cake in collaboration with BANDmade Books. The book contains lyrics from the Cake's recent album and illustrations by Rigel Stuhmiller. All band members worked with BANDmade books during production - they have been making paper from band's old clothes, carve linoleum, work with letterpress.
There were 1000 books published and the part of the sales will go to the 826 Valencia organization and The Hamilton Wood Type Museum.
