This was DRUKOPSTRAAT 4. MIAT, Gent
For a fourth year on a row Topo Copy teamed up with Helix and Het Miat (Museum of Industrial Archaeology and Textiles Ghent) to make giant prints, not on a press but on concrete with a steamroller, a type of heavy construction machinery used for flattening/compacting surfaces, such as roads or airfields. During a two-day-event the artists carved lino's and printed them on ‘flags’, paper and even clothing.

Yesterday I've met wonderful people - Brian Bagdonas & Rebecca Gilbert from Stumptown Printers (Portland, OR). After taking part in St Brides Wayzgoose they came to Belgium for a few days so we headed to MIAT this afternoon.

DRUKOPSTRAAT 4. 19-20.09.15
The 4th edition of the spectacular steamroller printing event DRUKOPSTRAAT is coming your way! It will take place on 19-20 September, from 10 till 17, in front of the MIAT, Gent.
Watch artists carving & printing huge linocuts, visit the demonstration at the printing workshop (4th floor) and join to this year's special - the DIY corner where you can print something of you own, so feel free to bring your linocuts/woodcuts.

When I met Claudio Madella (IT) in Amsterdam earlier this month while visiting Letterpress Amsterdam & Sander Pinkse studio's, I was glad to hear that his next stop is the MIAT museum in Gent.
