The name Marchand’10 (Marchandise) — French for “merchant” — suited the place perfectly. This was never just a shop, but a world of its own. From 24 January to 23 February 2026, the participants of this year’s Long Live the Black Art programme will take over a small exhibition space at the Museum of Industry in Ghent.
They’ll be showing a mix of personal work and their final projects from the programme — not just polished prints, but also glimpses into how those prints came to be. Think process, materials, experiments, and the decisions made along the way.

The wood-type collection at the Museum of Industry in Ghent is exceptional, and I’m lucky to work with it every day. Typesetting cards and posters, pulling prints in the museum’s workshop — even after all these years I’m still discovering new, curious, and beautifully worn pieces in the drawers.
