A couple of months ago Guillaume Bétemps from L’Atelier à l’Envers (FR) was on a short holiday in Belgium and we decided to meet at the MIAT museum in Gent to have a chat.
Guillaume told me that he discovered letterpress printing during his 6 months trip in Sao Paulo 4 years ago and decided to set up his own letterpress printshop when he was back in France. Currently he owns a few proofing presses, cabinets of metal/wood type and gives a various workshops for kids & adults (see some examples below).
Besides running the print shop, he came up with an idea of interviewing a few typo addicts from Europe and making/printing a poster together. After a quirky interview, I was asked to make a poster with printers quote and 'No CTRL+Z, think before printing ' was the first idea came on my mind (image above). It was fun to be part of this project and spending some time with a fellow letterpress practitioner.
À bientôt!
