Linocut

February 22, 2012

This Paper Stamp Kit, designed by Torafu Architects from Japan comes with various hand and roller stamps to help you (or your kid) create playful shapes and patterns.

Graphic design student Mario Meira from Portugal carved his own Ex Libris out of linoleum.

This organic food packaging concept uses linocut illustrations to accentuate the organic and hand-made aspect of the products. Designed by Mind Design.

Artist and illustrator Nick Morley create beautiful linocut works: book covers for Penguin, Faber and Faber, cover for Icon magazine and many more. Linocut illustration for Hitchcock's 'Vertigo' book cover, designed for British Film Institute's series on classic films is my favorite.

p.s. he recently started to make linocut illustrations of heroes from tv series. First in the line is Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock from recent BBC series).

And this one comes from Belgium and designed by Nathan Gilson from Badge-You. He prints posters and buttons using linocut and other printing techniques.

Toronto-based Pylon Design hand-carved some warm holiday wishes out of linoleum and then printed them on newspapers.
