Despite the cancellation of the Letterpress Workers event in Milan due to ‘we all know what’ it was still decided to make a publication, as it was happening every year. This time it will be a box gathering letterpress printed works by the participants accompanied by a booklet. The theme ‘New Beginnings’ became a kind of reaction to the events surrounding us for the last couple of months. I embraced the idea of 'new beginnings', a fresh start. An opportunity to experiment with materials and genuinely have fun while printmaking. For me it all has started…from a CD. And not only because I've discovered a box of old (non-working) CD's and was looking for good use of it, but because music is playing a very important role in my life: music unites, music heals even when physical separation is trying to ruin the party.

A few weeks ago I had pleasure of assisting Daniel García Andújar in printing of 4 posters for the opening of his exhibition 'Plus Utra' at the KIOSK in Ghent for which he especially flew over from Barcelona. After going through the reach wood type collection of the MIAT (now Industrie Museum) Daniel chose the suitable type. As he already had an experience in typesetting we quickly finalised the composition and after running some tests and makeready everything had been printed on FAG 405 at the printing department of the museum. It was a lovely experience. Nice to meet you Daniel!

Posters for the MIAT
Creating and printing posters, self-initiated or on a commission is something I enjoy making the most. So, therefore, I was quite enthusiastic when it came to collaboration with MIAT museum where 2 different posters had to be designed, typeset from wood and metal type and letterpress printed at the printing department of the museum.
