'Cool People Printing' is a new blog, curated by UnderConsideration, I will be keeping an eye on;) 

"Whether it's during a silkscreen pull or a crank on the Vandercook, people look cool when printing. This site collects photographs of cool people printing: getting their hands, aprons, and clothes dirty; producing something of and on their own; and creating stuff that wasn't there before. Enjoy Cool People Printing because, let's face it, seeing someone press "Command-P" is not cool.

Tweeterpress

Texas student Wu Ch is printing tweets using wood type from the Wu Ch is printing tweets using wood type from the Rob Roy Kelly American Wood Type Collection. By letterpressing people's tweets she is aiming to counterbalance our fast-paced and impersonal world.

"One of the restraints I gave myself whilst outlining the project was to avoid new technology(Illustrator and InDesign) as much as possible in the production of the project. The idea is to take the digital into the analog, the current into the archaic, and recontextualize the analog version through digital platforms such as twitter and tumblr . I would send a copy of each letterpress poster to its respective tweeter along with this cover letter to explain the project."

Linotype: The Film

After being fully funded via Kickstarter the Linotype film is now fully edited and ready for the world premiere on 3rd of February at the SVA Theatre in New York. Afterwards the film will be shown in different cities (check the screening page). I'm looking forward to see the film and secretly hoping it would come to Belgium one day;)

"Once you get ink and type metal in your blood it never comes out" quote from the new trailer. How true!

Upside Down, Left To Right

I must admit I have a weakness for letterpress related films. And even though this subtile short film by Danny Cooke have been featured on the various blogs and was circulating on twitter the last few days I felt the urge to (re)post it as well. Well, because it can never be too much;)
